About the title:
"La valse des feuilles" is French for "Waltz of the leaves". Sounds a bit weird in English, doesn't it?
About the movie:
This was a school assigment to try out either paper or sand animation. Teamed up with Pierre Allard and Geoffrey Coté, we worked on it for about 12 weeks. Designs, storyboards, cutting, animation and montage were all made by us.
Being a first try, of course it has mistakes. But we are still really happy about the result, because we tried to push the assigment further by giving ourselves some technical challenges, and they worked out better than we expected. Even the teacher cornered me in the corridor during finals weeks to ask me how we achieved a particular trick! It made us feel really, really proud indeed!
About the music:
"Living Voyage" is a royalty-free piece by Kevin Macleod. He has a lot of nice pieces of his website so I definitely recommend to go take a look if you need free music for a project.
